-
A guzzler is a water catchment system designed to collect, store, and provide water for wildlife in remote or arid areas. Our guzzlers are made from durable, non-toxic polyethylene. Depending on the model, units can be installed in-ground or above-ground.
-
A variety of species, including elk, bighorn sheep, deer, upland birds, small mammals, and bats, utilize our products. Different models are designed with features specific to each group, like ramps for critters or larger troughs for deer. To prevent injury and damage, please keep cattle and domestic animals from walking into the guzzlers and drinkers.
-
Yes! Most of our products are designed for easy installation, whether above-ground or partially in-ground. We provide general setup plans, and some models come with pre-installed fittings for simpler setup.
-
Float valves are included with all the drinkers to regulate the inflow of water from a waterline or storage tank. Float valves can be added to a guzzler as an option. Note that you can set up an “equilibrium system” if you want to connect to a water line without using a float valve. Check the product description for details.
-
A guzzler collects rainwater from the guzzler lid and added collection roof system and stores it in the guzzler tank. A drinker uses a float valve to provide water-on-demand and connects to an existing water source.
-
Rainmaker guzzlers and drinkers are made with UV- and freeze-tolerant polyethylene, making them suitable for a wide range of climates. Light freezes are generally fine. But, if you anticipate longer periods of hard freezing, you will want to either drain the unit or lower the water level to prevent damage from expanding ice. This is important with guzzlers or drinkers that have a bolt-on lid.
